Competition Information:
  • Competitions will be conducted in accordance with R.S.O.B.H.D. and Scotdance USA regulations.
  • All dance competitors and teachers and parents are expected to comply with the ScotDance USA
    Code of Ethics.
  • All dancers MUST have valid R.S.O.B.H.D. registration cards. No entry will be accepted without a current registration number. Dancers MUST present their registration card the day of the competition to receive their competition number.
  • Competitors must register online no later than Saturday, June 1, 2024. Late entries will not be accepted. No field entries accepted.
  • A competitor confirmation letter will be sent the week prior to the event.
  • Age groupings will be determined according to the number of entries.
  • Any competitor not reporting when their number is called will be disqualified for that dance.
  • Dancers registering last will be first to dance.
  • Competitors must remain in costume until all medals and trophies have been awarded.
  • In accordance with ScotDance USA policies, dancers must not change costumes in public view.
  • Changing tents will be unavailable - please bring your own.
  • The decisions of the Adjudicator are final. Petitions should be filed to the Dance Organizer no later than 48 hours after the event. The petition should be in writing and accompanied with a $25.00 fee that will be refunded if petition is warranted.
  • Three-Month Rule – Judges may not adjudicate any competitor that they have instructed for a period of three months. If a competitor has entered a competition with a judge they have attended a class or workshop within the last three months, the dancer must step down from the competition.
  • Photography and Video Taping: Please be respectful of other dancers’ privacy and only photography and/or video your dancer.
  • Dancing will conform to the RSOBHD rules. The decision of the Adjudicator is final.​
Competitor Letter 2024:

Dancers, Teachers, Parents and Guardians:

You are entered to compete in the Nashoba Valley Highland Dance competition located at the Bolton Town Common - 715 Main Street, Bolton, MA 01740 on June 8, 2024.  

Admission is free to families, teachers and the public.  The dance platform is covered by a large Pavilion, however there is no spectator cover or formal seating available.  We also do not have a changing tent available - please bring your own. 

Few Notes: 
  • There is a large grassy area where tents can be set up.
  • ​​Entry to the competition is free and open to public spectators - we are a “self-funded” competition - any and all donations are greatly appreciated and can be made at the registration table!
  • There will be several porta potties available on site.
